AboutΒΆ

tethys is an open-source spatiotemporal downscaling model for global water demand, written in Python. tethys was built at the Joint Global Change Research Institute in order to:

  1. Convert region-scale, annual water demand projections from the Global Change Analysis Model (GCAM) into a gridded monthly format suitable for use with global hydrologic models, and

  2. Provide localized water demand projections across alternative futures, which are critical for understanding scarcity and planning for future need.
